AutoMate Aftercare Support Programme
Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 1 Sep 2026
Effective from: 1 Sep 2026
1. Programme provider and eligibility
The AutoMate Aftercare Support Programme (“Programme”) is provided by DriveLab Auto Repair Limited, trading as AutoMate (“AutoMate”).
The Programme takes effect on 1 September 2026 and does not apply retrospectively to repairs before that date.
The Programme applies to repairs booked and paid through AutoMate and performed by an AutoMate partner workshop, where the Programme was included in the booking or repair confirmation. Eligible repair work and supplied parts must be recorded on the invoice or service record.
To qualify, payment and all communications relating to the repair must be handled through AutoMate.
The Programme provides assistance in arranging inspections, communicating with the original workshop and following up on repair-related issues. It is not a vehicle warranty or a separate guarantee by AutoMate to pay for repairs.
2. Support period
The support period lasts for 3 calendar months or 3,000 km, whichever comes first, starting from the original vehicle handover date and mileage recorded on the invoice or service record.
Any inspection, rectification or replacement arranged under the Programme does not restart or extend the original support period.
The terms provided when the original repair was confirmed apply to that repair. Subsequent updates do not retrospectively reduce the support available.
3. Scope of support
Customers may request assistance concerning:
Suspected defective workmanship directly relating to the invoiced repair.
Suspected defects in new replacement parts supplied and installed as part of the invoiced repair.
AutoMate will arrange an inspection with the original workshop, communicate the findings and liaise with the workshop to seek appropriate rectification.
Where an issue is established as defective workmanship or a defective supplied part within the Programme’s scope, AutoMate will seek rectification by the original workshop without additional charges for the relevant repaired parts and associated labour. This describes the outcome AutoMate will pursue; it is not a separate undertaking by AutoMate to fund or perform the rectification.
Support is limited to the original repaired items and associated labour. It does not extend to the entire vehicle or unrelated faults.
4. Exclusions
The Programme does not include:
Customer-supplied parts and all labour associated with installing those parts.
Used or reconditioned parts, unless separately included in writing before the repair was approved.
Normal wear and tear, routine maintenance and normal consumption of fluids or consumables.
Unrelated faults, pre-existing defects outside the agreed repair scope and items not included in the original repair.
Faults or damage caused by accidents, misuse, improper maintenance, modifications or external factors.
Faults or additional damage caused by continued vehicle operation after warning signs, where continued operation caused or worsened the problem.
Resulting damage to other components or property, even where associated with failure of an original repaired or replaced item.
Towing, recovery, transport, rental vehicles, loss of use, loss of income and other incidental or consequential expenses.
Normal wear exclusions do not, by themselves, exclude support concerning defective installation of an otherwise eligible part.
All exclusions are subject to clause 9.
5. Requesting support
Customers must contact AutoMate first, within the support period, and provide:
The invoice or booking reference.
The vehicle registration number and current mileage.
A description of the issue and when it occurred.
Supporting photographs or videos, where available.
AutoMate will arrange an inspection appointment with the same workshop that performed the original repair. Customers must make the vehicle available and provide reasonable information needed to assess the issue.
A request reported within both the time and mileage limits will not become ineligible solely because the inspection appointment arranged by AutoMate takes place after the support period expires.
Customers should stop using the vehicle where continued operation may be unsafe or cause further damage.
6. Inspection and proposed work
The original repair records and inspection findings will be used to assess the issue. A recurrence of a similar symptom does not automatically establish that the original workmanship or replacement part was defective.
AutoMate will communicate the workshop’s findings and proposed action. If the customer disputes the findings, AutoMate will assist in raising the customer’s concerns with the workshop and seeking clarification.
Any proposed inspection charges or chargeable repair work must be disclosed and approved by the customer before the charges are incurred. Submitting a support request does not, by itself, authorise chargeable work.
7. Original workshop and outside repairs
All inspections and rectification under the Programme must be arranged through AutoMate and performed by the workshop that carried out the original repair.
To obtain support under the Programme, customers must not arrange for another workshop to dismantle, alter or repair the item concerned before the original workshop has had the opportunity to inspect and address it.
The Programme does not arrange or reimburse repairs performed elsewhere. This requirement concerns the item for which support is requested and does not prohibit unrelated servicing or repairs elsewhere.
These requirements do not restrict any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be restricted.
8. AutoMate’s commitment
AutoMate will provide reasonable assistance by:
Arranging inspection appointments with the original workshop.
Communicating the customer’s concerns and the workshop’s findings.
Liaising and negotiating with the workshop regarding appropriate rectification.
Following up on agreed actions to seek proper completion of the relevant repair.
The original workshop remains responsible for the repair work it performs. AutoMate does not provide a separate promise under the Programme to pay for repairs, reimburse expenses, appoint a replacement workshop or perform rectification if the original workshop refuses or is unable to do so.
If the issue remains unresolved, AutoMate will communicate the outcome of its follow-up and the workshop’s stated position to the customer.
Nothing in this clause excludes any responsibility or liability AutoMate otherwise has under applicable law.
9. Statutory rights
The Programme supplements customers’ rights under applicable Hong Kong law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts any right, remedy, obligation or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, including applicable obligations to perform services with reasonable care and skill.
The Programme’s support period, exclusions and procedural requirements do not replace or limit such rights.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
